The Vase truly epitomizes that significant artistic period where classic Victorian influence was evolving into a more progressive fashion. A product of the renowned English Glass manufacturing firm of Thomas Webb & Sons. The Glass Vase is comprised of thick, quality, (English) Art Glass; as well as bold applications of polychrome Enamels. What is special about this vase is, on the one hand, the decorated brass clasp and, on the other, the original glass insert, which ensures that a single flower remains upright and does not tip over to the side. Even without a flower, it is a wonderfully decorative piece with its clasp, which is finely decorated. This vase was probably made between 1880 and 1890. Condition: very good, no damage to the glass or enamelling. The clasp has a patina but is perfectly fine. Dimensions: height 30 cm, width 13 cm
