Founded in 1897 as Heinrich & Gräf, the name changed to Heinrich & Co. in 1903. In the early years, the manufactory focussed on porcelain painting. Around 1904, the company also began producing its own porcelain and soon became known for its ivory porcelain. Heinrich & Co. porcelain enjoyed great popularity in the USA (general agency W. G. Mueller, Chicago). Heinrich & Co supplied all the crockery for the famous airship "Graf Zeppelin" (Senta-Nora). In 1947, the art department of the porcelain factory was established in the Seethal nature reserve in Übersee (near Lake Chiemsee). The vase offered here was created in this art department between 1947 and 1948, as indicated by the signature on the base. The signature of the executing artist is R. Heckel.
